Buying a Circular Saw

Q: I need to buy a new circular saw to complete some outdoor projects I have planned. Any recommendations?

A: : There are a number of good hand-held circular saws, and the first thing to realize is the need to buy quality. Even if you’ll only be using the saw in the backyard, it makes sense to buy more than a basic model. Pro-grade corded saws start just under $200. Cordless models go for double that. You’ll find 18 and 24 volt cordless saws can now replace corded models for most applications. I’ve used the Bosch and DeWALT cordless saws here at my place and both work well. That said, you pay quite a premium for any cordless tool, both in upfront cost and for replacement batteries.
