Jantje
Blokhuis Mulder Jantje is a folk artist who has been making and creating folk art for nearly 40 years. Although she works with wood, paint and found objects, her specialty is pyrography, the art of burning images into wood. It's an interest that began as a child in The Netherlands where she watched the neighbourhood blacksmith hone his craft. Jantje's work, reflects her seaside surroundings and her nations artistic heritage. Jantje helps other folk artists gain worldwide recognition at www.jantjeblokhuismulder.com and is currently involved with the Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre in her home of St. Andrews by the Sea New Brunswick. |
